- BANK MAKERS IN AMOS

- In AMOS,you have to load in various files from disk,which can include
- Bobs,Sprites and sound samples-So here is a guide to a few of the AMOS bank
- makers.

- Sprite Bank Maker.
- Insert your AMOS disk in the internal disk drive .
- Select "Load" from the top menu bar in the AMOS editor.
- The file selector should appear,showing the various files on the AMOS
- disk-In roughly the centre,you should see the "Sprite_Editor.AMOS"
- file,highlight this and double click on it with the left mouse button.
- A message should appear(About the buffer size)select `yes' by clicking on
- the word Yes with the mouse pointer and the left mouse button.Click on the
- "Run" option in the top menu bar-The editor should soon appear.
- To draw a basic picture:
- 1 Put the mouse pointer over the box on the right with several colour blocks
- in it.
- 2 Click on any one you like with the left mouse button.
- 3 Put the mouse pointer over the large box on the left.
- 4 Press and hold the left mouse button and wiggle the mouse pointer around
- inside the box-Squiggles should appear that correspond to your movements.

- Repeat steps 1 to 4 as many times as you like.

- 5 When you like the look of your Sprite/Bob,click on the yellow icon that
- says "INS"-This inserts the image into the Sprite bank(You'll see a number
- to the right of the button increase by one)
- 6 Now move the mouse pointer to just above the number to the icon that says
- "CLR",press on it with the left mouse button-The drawing box will
- clear-Don't worry,your Bob/Sprite is okay!(You can now draw the next image)

- You can repeat the above process (Steps 1 to 6)as much as you want-As you
- get used to the feel of it,you can stop scribbling and try to draw,like you
- would in deluxe paint.

- To save the bank,you have to press the S key-A file selector will appear
- enter the name of your file,adding .Abk after it to tell AMOS that it is
- an AMOS bank and then click on Ok with the left mouse button.

- As a quick guide as to what all the other icons do:
- "Quit"-Quits out of the sprite editor
- "Nice!"-Brings up the "Environment" panel
- "Undo"-If you make a mistake,press this
- "Get"-Gets the Bob/Sprite that is currently selected (Via itd number and
- picture in the middle box on screen)and puts it in the main drawing box
- "RGB"-Change colours with slider bars as in Deluxe Paint
- "REZ"-Gives you the selection of screen resolutions available.
- The blue icons with green blocks in them (When clicked on with the left
- mouse button)set up different `hot spots' for the currently selected
- Bob/Sprite.
- Most of the other icons are drawing tools just like you would find in Deluxe
- Paint.

- Easy AMOS Bob Bank Maker***
- Load up Easy AMOS as usual

- Move the mouse pointer to the top of the screen and press and hold the
- rigjht mouse biutton,put the pointer over "Bob Editor" press the left mouse
- button.
- Wait for the Bob editor to load.

- 1 Double click with the left mouse button on the centre of the box to
- furthes right with "1" over it,an asterix(*) should appear by the 1.

- 2 Put the pointer on the colour of your choice on the bar of colours on the
- left with the left mouse button

- 3 Return the pointer to the large hollow box on the left hand side.

- 4 Press the left mouse button and hold it,move the pointer around inside the
- perimeter of the box-Lines should appear inside it corresponding to your
- movements should appear.

- 5 repeat the above process(steps 1 to 5) as many times as you like(choosing
- different colours).

- 6 Double click (Left mouse button)on the box on the furthest right with the
- 1 over it-The picture in the drawing box should dissappear,and a smaller
- version will appear in the little box under 1.
- A new box will appear under the "1" box that says "2" over it.Repeat steps 2
- and onwards(Replacing `Box 2' etc. and so on).
- When you want to save the bank put the mouse pointer over the disk drive
- icon at the top left of the screen-click on it with the left mouse button-A
- new range of icons will appear-Click on the one second from right with the
- disk and ? on it.
- The file requester should appear,after selecting which disk you want to save
- the Bobs to enter the name you want to call the bank and add .Abk after
- it to tell AMOS that it is an AMOS bank.

- Easy AMOS sample Bank maker******
- Load in the Sample Bank maker using "Load" from the top menu bar-You will be
- asked if you want to change the buffer size,click on the word "Yes" with the
- left mouse button.
- Select "Run" from the top menu bar.When the editor has loaded insert the
- disk that you want to take samples from(It is easiest to use IFF format
- samples),click on the little box with the disk and arrow pointing down.
- A file selector will appear,after selecting what disk you want to load
- samples from,select the sample you want to load.in a short amount of time
- you will return to the main program,lots of white `scratches' will appear in
- the main window.
- Press the button with the big eared chap on to hear the sample.
- If you want to place it in the bank,click on the box in the top right corner
- on the word that says "Empty"(with the left mouse button) then put the mouse
- pointer over the arrow next to it that is pointing towards it(With the left
- mouse button).Repeat the steps of loading samples in and putting them in the
- bank.
- When you have all the samples you want,click on the little box on the right
- with the question mark in front of a disk symbol
- ,to save it.You'll be presented with a file requester,after selecting which
- disk you wish to save the file to,type the name of your choice for the bank
- adding .Abk to it(This tells AMOS it is an AMOS bank)then click on okay.
